Abstract

Background: Patient satisfaction is one of the key criteria for evaluating the quality of medical services, and it also plays a crucial role in determining patient loyalty to a healthcare facility. Objective: To analyze the factors influencing patient satisfaction across demographic including gender, age, education, nationality, type of customer and length of stay. Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted on 243 patients collected from 01/01/2024 to 29/02/2024. To assess patient satisfaction, a self-administered Likert-7 questionnaire was used to collect data. Data analysis was performed with descriptive statistics, t-test and one-way ANOVA methods used in SPSS 26.0. Results: There was no statistically significant difference in satisfaction between male and female (p = 0,612), between aged group (p = 0,499), between level of education (p = 0,056), between local or visitor (p = 0,789), between Vietnamese and foreign patients (p = 0,705) and between lengths of stay (p = 0,987). Conclusion: This study shows that patient satisfaction at private hospitals in Vietnam is not significantly affected by gender, age, education, nationality, type of customer, and length of stay. However, some factors need to be further considered in future studies, especially detailed analysis of expectations among patient groups from different countries.
