Abstract
Background: Interprofessional education (IPE) aims to improve interprofessional collaboration in the healthcare system. Successful implementation of interprofessional education in training programs requires consideration of the needs and readiness of stakeholders. Objectives: To survey the needs and attitudes of lecturers and healthcare professionals towards IPE at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Thai Nguyen University in 2025. Method: A cross-sectional and descriptive study was conducted in June 2025, involving 298 lecturers and doctors, pharmacists, and nurses in Thai Nguyen, using the Readiness and Consensus for Interprofessional Learning (RIPLS) questionnaire, with a 5-point Likert scale for assessing. Results: The average score of the entire scale was 3.93 ± 0.57. Agreement with the implementation of IPE training reached 81.3% of the maximum score. Professional positions, training level, and understanding of IPE showed significant differences in terms of Role - Responsibility (p = 0.034) and Professional Identity subscale (p = 0.043 and 0.042). A strong, positive, and statistically significant linear correlation was also found between mean RIPLS scores and agreement with IPE implementation (r = 0.773; p < 0.001). Conclusion: Faculty members and healthcare professionals demonstrated positive attitudes and high agreement toward the implementation of IPE training. These findings provide a basis for developing and implementing IPE programs in the near future.
