Abstract

Background: Clavicle fracture is one of the most common types of bone fractures in all ages. common in young people. In recent years, the rate of clavicle fractures has tended to increase. There are many methods of treating clavicle fractures, of which clavicle fusion surgery with a locking plates has many advantages. Objectives: Evaluating the results of surgery to treat closed clavicle fractures with locking plates at Lam Thao district medical center from January 2021 to April 2023. Methods: Descriptive study of 44 cases of closed clavicle fractures undergoing bone fusion surgery with a locking plate from January 1, 2021 to April 2023. Results: The highest proportion of patients is between the ages of 31 - 40 years old (12 patients, accounting for 27.3%); The rate of left clavicle fractures is higher than that of the right (65.9% versus 34.1%); The first surgical wound healed in 44/44 patients, accounting for 100%; The result of fracture correction without displacement reached 100%; After 6 months of rehabilitation according to the Constant 42/44 scale, 95,5% of patients achieved very good results. Conclusions: Clavicle fractures are common in trauma. If left untreated, they will affect the mobility of the shoulder joint. Surgery clavicle fractures with locking plates to correct and restore the anatomy, fix the fracture firmly, create conditions for early rehabilitation after surgery and bring good results to the patient.
