Abstract
Background: Knowledge, attitudes, practices of people are extremely important in preventing transmitted diseases from animals to humans. Objective: To describe the current status of knowledge, attitude, practice on influenza A (H5N1) prevention of people at Pho Rang town, Bao Yen district, Lao Cai province in 2024. Method: A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted on 290 people ≥ 18 years old in Pho Rang town, Bao Yen district, Lao Cai province. Results: The proportion of study subjects < 40 years old was 53.1% and 40 - 59 years old was 38.3%; the proportion of men was 50.7%; Kinh ethnicity was 75.5%. The proportion of people with general knowledge on influenza A (H5N1) prevention at good level 9.3%; average 29.7% and poor 61.0%. The proportion of general attitudes on influenza A (H5N1) prevention at good level 19.3%; average 76.9% and poor 3.8%. The proportion of general practice on influenza A (H5N1) prevention at good level 10.0%; average 10.3% and poor 79.7%. Conclusion: Knowledge, attitude, practice on influenza A (H5N1) prevention of Pho Rang town people is still weak.
