Abstract

AN COT YDT balm is made of folk remedies, using modern technology to prepare and evaluate product quality to create a quality, stable, and effective product in treatment cases of inflammation, trauma, hematoma, swelling of the breast, and joint pain. The objective of the study was to develop the product formula AN COT YDT from the Gac (Momordica cochinchinensis Spreng.) seeds and cinnamon branches for convenience. The study was carried out by extracting Gac (Momordica cochinchinensis Spreng.) seeds by the Soxhlet method. The extract was concentrated by vacuum evaporation and static drying at 55°C. Cinnamon is distilled to separate essential oils and extracts. The extract was evaporated under a vacuum and statically dried at 55°C. AN COT YDT balm was prepared by simple mixing with excipients vaseline, paraffin, lanolin, beeswax. The results of the study shows that formulation of AN COT YDT balm has been developed containing 0.8g of dried extract of gac seeds; 0.2g of cinnamon essential oil; 2.0g of methyl salicylate; 1.0g of parafin oil; 3.7g of vaseline; 1.5g of lanolin; 1.0g of cetostearic alcohol; 2.0g of beeswax. AN COT YDT products met the requirements of Vietnam Pharmacopoeia V such as smooth, uniform, no separation; sustainable balm at the time of the study. In addition, the product met the requirements of uniformity and uniformity of mass according to the Vietnamese pharmacopoeia V. The qualitative results of Gac seeds in this product by thin-layer chromatography showed that the spots on the chromatogram of the test solution had the same Rf value and the same color as the spots in the chromatogram obtained with the reference solution. It is concluded from the study that the developed formula for the preparation of AN COT YDT balm met the standard basis.
