Abstract
Background: Diabetes mellitus is one of the leading causes of mortality and disability, and its prevalence continues to increase. In the management and treatment of type 2 diabetes, the primary objectives are to maintain good glycemic control and to control associated risk factors. However, the effectiveness of controlling these factors in patients remains limited. Therefore, a comprehensive evaluation of treatment outcomes in patients with type 2 diabetes plays an important role in improving the quality of treatment. Objective: To evaluate treatment outcomes of outpatients with T2DM at 19-8 Hospital during 2024 - 2025. Methods: A descriptive, cross-sectional study was conducted on 248 T2DM patients using a simple random sampling technique. Results: Among patients, 47.2% achieved target fasting glucose, 40.3% achieved target HbA1c, 78.6% achieved target blood pressure, and only 18.5% achieved target lipid levels. Regarding multifactorial control, 35.9% of patients achieved one target, 33.1% achieved two, 10.9% achieved three, 12.5% achieved all four targets, while 7.7% did not achieve any. Blood pressure control was relatively favorable, whereas lipid management remained the most suboptimal. Conclusion: Multifactorial control in T2DM outpatients is still limited, particularly for lipid levels, highlighting the need for comprehensive management strategies to improve overall treatment outcomes.
