Abstract

Background: Patient’satisfaction is an important criterion for evaluating the quality of healthcare services. Traditional non-anesthetic colonoscopy often induces abdominal pain and discomfort, which can significantly impact cooperation between patient with medical staff. This cooperation is essential for a successful procedure and patient’s satisfaction. Objectives: To assess satisfaction among patients with non-anesthetic colonoscopy at the Endoscopy Unit, Thai Nguyen A Hospital in 2024 and to identify factors related to satisfaction among patients with non-anesthetic colonoscopy. Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted on 220 patients undergoing non-anesthetic colonoscopy. Results: The mean age of the study population was 48.1 ± 11.01 years. Males accounted for 69.1% of the sample. Overall patient’s satisfaction with non-anesthetic colonoscopy was 91.4%. The item “Received advice on diet, exercise, and follow-up after the procedure” had the lowest satisfaction rate of 90.9%. Patient’s satisfaction was significantly associated with age (p < 0.05) and pain level (p < 0.001). Conclusions: The overall patient’s satisfaction with non-anesthetic colonoscopy was relatively high at 91.4%. Patient’s satisfaction was significantly associated with age (p < 0.05) and pain level (p < 0.001).
