Abstract
Introduction: Strategy 2X has been a new trial to increase the proactive tuberculosis detection towards tuberculosis eradication implemented in Thai Nguyen since 2018. Objectives: To analyze tuberculosis detection results using 2X strategy in Thai Nguyen. Methods: A descriptive study. Data was collected from the books and reports on the implementation of 2X strategy at district health centers and Thai Nguyen Tuberculosis and Lung Disease Hospital from 2018 - 2021. Results: The number of pulmonary tuberculosis patients detected by 2X was 319, an increase of more than 55 cases compared with passive detection. The ratio of Xpert Test results (+) among Xpert Xpert results was 93/1435 (6.48%). The percentage of chest X-ray films with abnormalities among those took X-ray was 590/15104 (19.97%). Conclusions: The 2X strategy in Thai Nguyen in the years 2018 - 2021 contributed to the increase in the rate of detected tuberculosis patients by 20.83%, compared to the passive detection. Rifampin resistance in tuberculosis patients accounted for 4.15% of the positive Xpert tests.
