Abstract
Background: Miscarriage rate accounts for 15 - 20% of pregnancies and mostly occurs in the first trimester. Objectives: To evaluate treatment outcomes of pregnant women with threatened miscarriage in the first trimester at Hospital A, Thai Nguyen from June 2024 to May 2025. Methods: This was a prospective cross-sectional descriptive study conducted on 242 pregnant women with threatened miscarriage who received inpatient treatment at the Obstetrics Department of Hospital A, Thai Nguyen. Results: The most common age group was 20 - 35 years (89.3%). Workers were the most common occupation group (33.9%). No association was found between vaginal bleeding symptoms and subchorionic hematoma on ultrasound. The treatment success rate was 92.1%, while the unsuccessful rate is 7.9%. The mean length ofhospital stay was 9.05 ± 3.09 days. The poorest treatment outcomes are observed in pregnant women with gestational ages from 6 weeks 0 days to 7 weeks 6 days (9.5%). The best treatment outcomes are seen in pregnant women presenting with both abdominal pain and vaginal bleeding, with a success rate of 93.2%, and in those with subchorionic fluid accumulation on ultrasound, with a success rate of 91.8%. Conclusion: Pregnant women with threatened miscarriage at Hospital A showed a high rate of favorable treatment outcomes.
