Abstract
Background: Reproductive health care in Vietnam still has many challenges; including the lack of awareness about women's reproductive health. Objectives: To evaluate knowledge, attitudes and practices on reproductive health care among married women at reproductive age in Ban Dat commune, Phu Binh district, Thai Nguyen province in 2022. Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted on 300 married women at reproductive age in Ban Dat commune, Phu Binh district, from March to October, 2022. Results: The proportion of women who knew contraceptive methods were intrauterine devices, oral contraceptives, and condoms were 86.7%, 62.0% and 59.3% respectively. 42.7% of the women knew that babies needed to be exclusively breastfed for 6 months. 83.7% knew that they should have prenatal check-ups at least three times or more. 56.0% acknowledged that 2 tetanus injections were needed in the first pregnancy. 100% of the women strongly agreed and agreed that it was necessary to pay attention to contraceptive methods. 96.3% of the participants knew about the nutrition of mother and child. 61.3% of the women had intrauterine devices. 44.0% had prenatal check-ups ≥3 times during last pregnancy. The proportion of women who received 2 tetanus injections or 1 extra tetanus injection during their last pregnancy was 63.3%. Conclusions: Knowledge, attitude and practice on reproductive health care among married women at reproductive age in Ban Dat commune, Phu Binh district, Thai Nguyen province was still low.
