Abstract
Background: In Vietnam, bone fixation surgery using locking plates has been implemented in many places, but there are still few independent studies conducted at medical facilities to objectively evaluate the effectiveness after surgery. At Thai Nguyen Central Hospital, this treatment has also been applied, but no specific research studies have been conducted. Objective: Evaluation of the Results of surgical fixation with locking plate treatment for the distal radius fracture at Thai Nguyen national hospital. Method: Cross-sectional descriptive study. A study of 43 adult patients with distal radius fractures who underwent surgical treatment with locking plate at Thai Nguyen national hospital from 012019 to 01/2024. Results: Patients were followed up at least 06 months post-operative and functional outcome base on Green and O’Brien modified. The final outcome was 22 cases (51,2%) exccellent, 7 cases (16,2%) good, 14 cases (32,6%) fair and there no cases of poor. Conclusion: Evaluation of rehabilitation after 6 months: Most patients no longer experience pain after treatment, with 81.4% of patients returning to their previous occupation; 100% of patients are satisfied with the surgical treatment results after 6 months.
