Abstract

Background: Patients with cancer often have to use drug for along time, so herbal products supportting treatment are increasingly being used. Objective: To evaluate the effectiveness and safety of Curminol-K in the support of cancer treatment. Methods: 79 patients diagnosed with cancer and treated at Oncology Center - Thai Nguyen National Hospital. Interventional and prospective method was used. Results: After treatment, the clinical symptoms including anorexia, thinness, bloating, indigestion, fatigue, blue skin, nausea and vomiting all improved; Test results to assess liver, kidney function and hematological indicators at the time of T0, T3, T6 did not change between the two groups and were within normal limits; The majority of patients were fairly and well tolerated (82,5%). Conclusion: Curminol-K was clinically evaluated for effectiveness and safety, so it needs to be further and longitudinally studied with a larger sample and longer follow-up time to confirm its effectiveness and safety in supporting cancer treatment.
