Abstract
Background: Ectopic pregnancy is a condition in which a fertilized egg implants outside the uterine cavity, occurring in 1.5 - 2.0% of pregnancies. Currently, the diagnosis and treatment of ectopic pregnancy have made many advances compared to before. Objective: Describe the clinical and paraclinical characteristics of patients with tubal pregnancy at Cam Pha Regional General Hospital from May 2022 to May 2024. Method: A cross-sectional study on 102 patients were diagnosed with tubal pregnancy and treated surgically at Cam Pha Regional General Hospital. Results: The average age of the study subjects was 33.4 ± 5.5 years old, of which the majority were between 26 - 40 years old, accounting for 76.5%. 60.8% of subjects had ≥ 2 children, a history of previous abdominal surgery (37.3% had 1 surgery, 17.6% had ≥ 2 surgeries). 64.7% had 2 or more clinical symptoms. During clinical examination, 71.6% of subjects had pain next to the uterus. 55.9% of subjects had serum β-hCG values from 1000 - 5000 mUI/ml. On ultrasound, mixed echogenic mass and cul-de-sac fluid accounted for the highest proportion (48.0%), typical gestational sac accounted for 15.7%. Conclusion: The average age of study participants of childbearing age. Patients with a history of previous abdominal surgery accounted for a high proportion. The main clinical symptoms were delayed menstruation and abdominal pain. Most patients had quantitative β-hCG levels between 1000 - 5000 mUI/ml. The most common ultrasound images were mixed echogenicity masses and cul-de-sac fluid.
