Abstract
Background: Congenital heart disease can be simple or complex and is increasingly common in pediatric practice. At Tuyen Quang General Hospital, in recent years, the number of children diagnosed with congenital heart disease has been rising, and treatment is still faces many difficulties. Identifying the pattern of congenital heart disease is of great significance because it reveals the disease trends within a community, thereby having appropriate plans for prevention as well as diagnosis, care and treatment, reducing serious complications, and improving the quality of life for children with congenital heart disease. Objective: To determine the pattern of congenital heart disease in children from 0 months to 5 years old treated at the Department of Pediatrics, Tuyen Quang General Hospital in the period of 2019 - 2024. Method: Descriptive study was conducted on 559 children with CHD treated at the Pediatrics Department of Tuyen Quang Provincial General Hospital. Results: The rate of CHD is 1.26% and tends to increase over the years. The male and female ratio is approximately 1/1. CHD with left-right shunt accounts for 73.3%, CHD with right ventricular outflow tract obstruction (14.3%), CHD with two-way shunt (7.5%), other CHD group (2.5%), CHD group with left ventricular outflow tract obstruction (2.3%). The rate of early detection of CHD tends to increase. Conclusion: The rate of early detection of CHD tends to increase, and no difference in gender. he group of CHD with left-right shunt is dominant and tends to be detected more and more each year.
