Abstract
Background: Due to the dangerous nature of cerebral hemorrhage, the diagnosis of the disease must be made quickly and accurately. Therefore, continuing to research and summarize the clinical and paraclinical characteristics, prognostic factors and surgical results of cerebral hemorrhage is still necessary, has scientific value and practical significance. Objective: Evaluating the results of surgery to treat primary cerebral hemorrhage in the elderly at Phu Tho Provincial General Hospital. Methods: Retrospective study, describing 37 patients with spontaneous cerebral hemorrhage who were operated on in 2021 - 2023 with the aim of determining the rate of clinical symptoms, paraclinical symptoms and outcomes. Surgical treatment of spontaneous cerebral hemorrhage at Phu Tho Provincial General Hospital. Results: In the 37 cases in the study, there were 15 men and 12 women. Mean age was 67.7 ± 6,891 (18 - 72). The number of patients with GCS score 13 - 15 was 11 patients, accounting for 29.7%. The number of patients with GCS score 9 - 12 is 14 patients, accounting for 37.8%. The number of patients with GCS 3 - 8 had 12 patients, accounting for 32.4%, 1/37 patients had dilated pupils, 19/37 had hemiparesis, the average maximum blood pressure was 160 mmHg, most patients had a history of hypertension and 11/37 patients were hospitalized before 4 hours. The average volume of hemorrhage was 70 cm3, the average number of days of treatment was 15 days, and the treatment results were good in 40.5% of 15 patients. Conclusion: Although the proportion of patients with poor outcomes after surgery is still high and there are still many sequelae for patients. However, surgery for spontaneous cerebral hemorrhage is still an effective option when medical treatment fails.
