Abstract
Background: The laparoscopic infertility surgery method has solved the anatomical causes of infertility that medical treatment cannot handle, so with the desire to better the surgery, the study was conducted. Objectives: To validate the results of early laparoscopic surgery in infertile patients at Bac Ninh Hospital of Obstetrics and Pediatrics. Methods: A descriptive, cross-sectional, and retrospective study was carried out on 225 infertile patients treated with laparoscopic surgery from January 2021 to December 2022 at Bac Ninh Hospital of Obstetrics and Pediatrics. Results: The proportion of patients with secondary infertility was 70.7%. The average duration of infertility was 2.02 ± 0.87 years. Infertility was caused by ovarian tumors (62.2%), by fallopian tubes (22.2%), by uterine fibroids (9.3%), and by uterine polyps (6.2%). Among the cases with uterine fibroids, 95.2% of the cases involved in fibroid removal. As for uterine polyps, 50% of the cases had endometrial polyps removed. For the cause of fallopian tubes, the proportion taking simple removal of fallopian tube adhesions was 44%, and combining with other methods was 42%. For those with ovarian tumors, the prevalence having removal of ovarian tumors was 73.6%. Conclusions: Laparoscopic surgical management for infertile patients is necessary in cases having causes that cannot be treated with internal medicine, such as uterine fibroids, endometrial polyps, ovarian tumors, and obstructions. Upon the cause, there are different treatment methods.
